Today’s average man tends to have stereotypical characteristics. In western society and even in Thailand, women characterize an ideal man as ‘tall, dark and handsome’. However to Arkom Thongprong, an ideal man is represented by more than his physical appearance. His idea of a real man includes common traits that reflect a man’s desires and actions. For example, after many years of observation, Arkom has noted that an average male, especially a Thai male, is primarily interested in three things: women, guns and Buddha amulets. Such motivation, Arkom believes, help to define the world of real men. ‘A Real Man is Coming’, the latest contemporary art collection by Arkom Thongprong, will take you on journey to this world
